Susan Under the Light

Susan, the iconic title character from the 80's classic film is shown, waiting on an abandoned couch on the street. 

This original, 3 color stencil is sprayed over a collage of digitally manipulated, image transfer photographs. The transfers are adhered over a mixed-media background revealing collaged and painted textures underneath.

This piece captures a special New York City environment of discarded possessions, including the sneakers twisted over the power lines above and the inhabitants who live with them.
